LGS oversees major real estate projects, such as building sites, major constructions, renovations and refits of indoor spaces, and special works.
Special maintenance
As part of its real estate work, LGS handles investments regarding the management of real estate, guaranteeing to keep properties and plants running efficiently. Alongside looking after the entire life-cycle of initiatives, from the planning and execution phase right up to testing, LGS monitors the economic and technical progress of the real estate investment plan and detects any discrepancies, coordinating the competent regional organisations to take any corrective actions.
New builds
As part of rationalising real estate, or following a specific request from the departments due to business requirements, LGS carries out both extensions and redevelopments of existing buildings and the construction of new ones. LGS looks after projects from the requirement analysis phase up to final delivery, and coordinates professional firms in the design phase and companies in the construction phase.
Specific action programmes
With a view to better management of real estate, LGS coordinates similar types of specific action programmes, such as: the structure maintenance programme to improve the seismic response of buildings’ structures; the factory hydraulic network mapping programme, aimed at reducing losses and complying with regulations; as well as the energy monitoring programme to improve the efficiency of buildings and plants in accordance with the Leonardo sustainability plan. Every programme is aimed at establishing the action plan required to guarantee that industrial factories are kept running efficiently and comply with regulations.
Business support infrastructures
LGS is entrusted with managing the budgeting process, as well as project management and construction management of infrastructures as part of the product orders of Leonardo’s departments for Italian and international clients, with the goal of:

establishing a unique reference model for the construction of civil works and infrastructures, starting from the commercial bidding phase, right up to construction and delivery of the work to the client, while applying best practices;

developing a strategy combining Leonardo’s and the client’s interests;

guaranteeing control over the construction process by monitoring and reporting the work.
